BDA officials and staff accused of forgery in another scam site

Two senior officials of the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA), who served as deputy secretaries, along with other staff, were arrested by Seshadripuram police for cheating and forgery. They allegedly helped at least four people register and get sites in and around the city using fake documents between 2016 and 2018.

The development authority is also under investigation for the alleged rigging of its online corner site auction last year. Investigations by the BDA’s Vigilance and Special Task Force Squad revealed that staff allegedly colluded with intermediaries to rig electronic auctions and favor certain bidders.

The new cases of forgery and cheating predate the online auction site scam. Based on the findings of the preliminary investigation, Srinivas VT, Inspector, Vigilance and Special Task Force Squad filed a complaint with the Seshadripuram Jurisdictional Police Station on Friday seeking criminal action.

In his complaint, he said that a senior BDA official, Anil Kumar, the former Undersecretary III, and other BDA staff created false documents for a 2,400 square foot site. at Chandra Layout 1st Stage. This was allegedly done in collusion with intermediaries in April 2018. The site was registered in the name of a certain Selvarani. Apart from Kumar, other people named in the FIR are staff members Sanjay Kumar MK, Muni Bacchegowda and Venkataramannappa and supervisors Mahadevamma and Ramu D., as well as staff from the economic division.

Similarly, another 850 square foot site in Kengeri Satellite Town was registered in the name of a Chikkatayamma using false documents by the defendant in July 2016. The following year in September 2017, they registered a third 1,500 square foot site also at Kengeri Satellite. City in the name of Appayyanna, said Mr. Srinivas in his complacency.

Another former deputy secretary, Mangala S., was named as an accused based on a complaint filed by Indramani H. of the BDA squad. She, along with Supervisor Kamalamma and other staff, allegedly forged documents to register a 1,200 square foot. site at HBR Layout 1st Stage in July 2016.

Seshadripuram Police have requested more details from the complainant to initiate an investigation.
