With the 2022 T20 World Cup ending on Sunday November 13, cricket fans’ eyes will be on franchise cricket for a brief period. On Tuesday, November 15, the 10 Indian Premier League (IPL) teams will announce their list of players retained and released ahead of the cash-rich league’s 2023 season.

With the mini-auction scheduled for December 23, all eyes will be on the list of released players as some exciting names may be up for grabs on the auction table. Fans will also get to know the auction purse for the 2023 season ahead of the league.

Which players are likely to be released?

While official confirmations are still awaited, the likes of Shardul Thakur, Kane Williamson and Mayank Agarwal could be among the big names dropped by their franchises. All eyes will be on MI and the decision they will make with club legend Kieron Pollard who served them for 12 years as suspense remains over Ravindra Jadeja’s future at Chennai Super Kings.

Other transfers could take place before the deadline. This will allow franchises to plug holes in their setup without getting involved in a frantic bidding war.
