It’s time to saddle up | New

TUSCUMBIA – The 26th annual “Saddle for St. Jude” ride will be held July 14-16 at Gardiner Farm, 85 Underwood Road, Tuscumbia. This traditional hit event features 300 acres of equestrian trails to enjoy along with featured entertainment from local musicians and country music stars Aaron Tippin & Sammy Kershaw, Darryl Worley and Shenandoah. It is the largest event of its kind in the nation and, each year, among the largest fundraisers to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. Over $2.5 million has been raised for St. Jude over the past 25 years. Some of the best concessions and food you’ll find anywhere is just a bonus. Bring your lawn chair and a grateful heart while supporting the best of causes!

The farm and concessions open Thursday noon for campers and riders. Thursday night entertainment begins with Drive at 6 p.m., Cowboy Church Band at 7:30 p.m. and Shenandoah at 8:30 p.m.

Doors open at 7 a.m. Friday and Saturday for riders. Friday night music includes Amanda Brewer at 6 p.m., April Michelle at 7 p.m. and Darryl Worley closing the evening with a show at 8:30 p.m.

The Josh Brannon Band opens the Saturday show at 11 a.m. and returns at 2:15 p.m. The Kerry Gilbert Band takes the stage at 1 p.m.

The live auction begins at 3 p.m.

Saturday night headliner: Roots & Boots Tour with Aaron Tippin and Sammy Kershaw at 8 p.m.

Admission and auction donations benefit St. Jude’s Research Hospital.

Ticket prices are $20 on Thursday, $20 on Friday and $40 on Saturday. – OR a weekend pass for all 3 days is just $60.

The event is presented by Circle 5 Outfit – Jimmy and Polly King.

No all-terrain vehicles are permitted on the trail this weekend except for those used by Saddle-Up volunteers.
