ALPENA – The holidays are just around the corner, and so are craft fairs and holiday bazaars.

This Saturday

This Saturday, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Alpena will host its annual holiday bazaar from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church, 727 S. 2nd Ave., Alpena. The bazaar will include a cookie sale, sewing corner, country store, multi-item raffle, and a variety of homemade and handmade items. Volunteers will be available to bring your purchases to your vehicle. The traditional lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will include St. Paul’s famous turkey casserole, cranberry salad, relishes, rolls/butter, dessert, and coffee/tea/milk. The cost of lunch is $10 per adult, $5 per child 5-10 years old and free for children under 5 years old. Takeout will be available at 11 a.m. For lunch tickets, call the church office at 989-356-1658.

Also on Saturday, the Hemlock Hills Holiday Arts and Craft Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hemlock Hills On Mill Pond, Posen. In addition to the craft exhibition, mill tours and children’s activities will take place throughout the day.

The Toys for Kids Craft Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the American Legion Post. Toy donations will also be accepted. Call Tammy at 989-464-5588 if you have any questions.

Saturday November 12

The Wishing for Christmas craft show will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 12 at the APlex, 701 Woodward Ave., Alpena.

Also on November 12, Hope Lutheran Church will host its annual bazaar and soup and salad lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Lunch is $12 per person. In addition to crafts and lunch, there will be a raffle, with first prize being a beautiful queen quilt, second prize a Christmas tree skirt, and third prize a tote bag. There will also be an auction, cookie and bake sale. Items for sale include crafts, pastries, sauerkraut, pickled beets, cooked tomatoes, dill carrots and dill beans, pickles, salsa, jams, jellies and many other fruits and canned vegetables. The church is located at 5462 Nicholson Hill Road, Hubbard Lake.

St. Augustine’s Church holds its annual arts and crafts show on November 12 at the Hillman Community Center located on the Veterans Memorial Highway. There will be many quality vendors with beautiful crafts, lunch available and a great bake sale.

Saturday November 19

The Deer Widow Craft Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 19 at the Hubbard Lake Community Center, 1561 Hubert Rd. This event is sponsored by the Hubbard Lake Community Association. There will be raffles, the proceeds of which will go to the HLCA. The Smoking Trolls food truck will be on site. Vendors include Jennifer’s Craft Creations, Pop Up Stamps, Sumerix Maple Syrup, Fresh Creations by Katie, Mimi’s Kitchen, Bill’s Primitive Crafts, Bhudicae’s Bath, The Sisters, Karen Niedbala, JD’s Sweet Habanero Sauce, Lennie McGuire Gnomes, Bloomin’gals, Mary Lou’s Coasters, Pandemonium Studios, Kim Schalkofski and Noah’s Paracord Crafts. Saturday December 3

The Ella White Bazaar will be at Alpena High School again this year, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 3. The annual bazaar will feature over 70 vendors, and teachers have worked very hard on their class baskets, which will be raffled off. Proceeds from the raffle go directly to each class. Saturday December 10

Alpena VFW Post 2496 will host a holiday craft fair on Saturday, December 10, with 20 vendors, door prizes, lunch available for purchase, and drawing for dinner. The position is located at 2900 Connon St., Alpena.
