“Love Your Local Theatre” encourages the public to contribute to the post-Covid recovery of the arts sector.
Live entertainment has suffered greatly throughout the pandemic, whether through canceled shows until positive cases, reduced crowds or simply no shows at all during lockdown.
With this in mind, UK Theater has partnered with the National Lottery to launch the biggest ever 2-for-1 ticket offer for National Lottery players. ‘Love Your Local Theatre’ aims to get UK theaters back on track after major losses have been suffered.
100 cinemas nationwide have signed up for the campaign, meaning you can get 2-for-1 tickets valid through March starting today.
Providing up to £2million, the National Lottery has pledged to fund over 150,000 shows across the UK. You will be able to grab offers for shows such as Everybody’s talking about Jamie, Blood Brothers, Bedknobs and Broomstickets, and much more.
The campaign is backed by Girls Aloud star Kimberly Walsh, who said: “We are so privileged to have so many amazing theaters and entertainment venues across the UK.
“I had the chance to play in several of them. Without our local theaters the face of British entertainment would look very different and that’s amazing. The National Lottery is providing £2m to support them. The entertainment industry has been hit particularly hard by the pandemic, and that’s why the Love your local theater The campaign is so important to support their recovery.
Tickets are available for purchase here starting today (February 1).
